With the return of our founder, Professor Pantelis, we had an anniversary seminar which all instructors (Pantelis Panayides, Andreas Achniotis Perales, Panikos Melodias and Alexis Kallis) showed new techniques at. We enjoyed a party afterward with beers and a BBQ. 

Thank you to all of you who attended. This reunion / anniversary is a tribute to our growing Aspida family.

Finger Taping

After 20 years of practicing several 'grip' fighting sports like judo and BJJ,  I decided to offer some advice on how to tape your fingers for such sports. When you practice on a daily basis and prepare for competitions, you don't have the time to take breaks to let the inflammation go away, so prevention is better than cure.

Here are some tips that you can use, depending on the injury:

Friday Open Mat nights

The idea of having open mat training one night a week is to bring our members closer. Not only from a training and team building perspective but also on a personal level. The guys have a chance to roll as much as they want, and practice new techniques learnt during the week, or practice their own game plan with any opponent in a roll or as drills. 

That's how we roll... On a Friday night!

Woman's self defends srminar

 

With great success the first cycle of self-defense seminars for girls! The seminar took place on our new ATRG academy in the center of Nicosia and was presented by Prof. Alex Kallis.

   The aim of the seminars is to provide self-defense knowledge of Brazilian jiu jitsu. This martial art specialize in ground fight in which a weaker person can control a Bigger, stronger and heavier opponent.

 

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία ολοκληρωθηκε ο πρώτος κύκλος σεμιναρίων αυτοαμυνας για κοπέλες! Το σεμινάριο έλαβε χώρα στις καινουργιες εγκαταστάσεις της ATRG academy στην Λευκωσια και παρουσιάστηκε από τον Proffesor. Αλεξη Καλλή. 

 

  Στόχος των σεμιναρίων είναι η παρουσίαση αυτοαμυνας Brazilian jiu jitsu.  Η συγκεκριμένη πολεμική τέχνη ειδικευεται στη μάχη στο έδαφος στη οποία καποιος πιο αδύναμος μπορεί να ελέγξει και να επαιβληθει σε ένα μεγαλυτερο, δυνατοτερο και βαρυτερο αντίπαλο.
