ATRG promoting the youth sport work

Aspida Team Renzo Gracie  instructors Andreas Achniotis and Andreas Achilleos

 will participate in the training course:

"Strategic partnership and activities for promotion of youth sports work during the European week of sport" 

that will take place in Novi Sad, Serbia from 31/5/16 - 8/6/16 

The purpose of this course is to educate youth workers for quality envisioning and promoting the youth sport work events that thus contribute to increasing participation in quality sports. Out of 32 participants, 14 partner organizations and 13 countries Prof. Achniotis and instructor Achilleos will represent the international humanitarian and independent Institution "Hope for Children" UNCRC Policy Center, Cyprus and the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

The 2016 volume of the Cyprus BJJ and Beach Camp is official! We have two of Eddie Bravo’s top class champions coming over for their first ever camp in Europe. Just like 2015, this year’s camp will be on the beautiful shores of Protaras Cyprus. Remember guys… pack you rashguard, shorts and sun protection and get ready for a weeklong intensive seminar in the Mediterranean!

Denny Prokopos Seminar 4/April/2016

EBI 2 champion Denny Prokopos visited Aspida in Nicosia for a fully loaded no-gi seminar. As the highly talented and passionate individual that he is, Denny left his heart on the mats for a full-house intensive seminar. We look forward to hosting Denny again in the near future.

Women's Self Defence 2 Day workshop 20-21/Feb/2016

Aspida hosted a successful the 3rd edition of  2days Women's self defence workshop with an energetic team of women of all ages participating. We believe empowering women in self-defence through Jiu-Jitsu. The concepts of leverage allow a smaller, weaker opponent to overcome a stronger opponent, making it ideal for women to protect themselves. We want to thanks our sponsors: Veronique’s LetsBeYoga, Sushi La, The Boys Café, KemanesPrinting and Love from Cyprus. Congratulations to all the ladies who really impressed us on day 2 with their quick understanding and application of Jiu-jitsu for self-defence. last but not least the Coaches Andreas Achniotis,Alexis Kallis and all the ATRG volunteers that  made this event possible.

3 Day Seminar with Prof.Pantelis Panayides 14-15-16/Jan/2016

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε το 3ήμερο σεμινάριο BJJ του Παντελή Παναγιδη στην Aspida Team Renzo Gracie.

To σεμινάριο παραδοθηκε σε τρεις ενότητες που κάλυψαν τεχνικές από top position, bottom position και guard passing από τις θέσεις αυτές και ήταν προςανατολιςμενο σε αγωνιςτικες τεχνικες έν όψει του Πανευρωπαϊκού Πρωταθλήματος που θα διεξαχθει στην  Λιςαβονα από τις 20 – 25 και στο οποίο θα λάβουν μέρος 11 αθλητές μας.

Η συμμετοχή και τις τρεις μέρες ήταν πολύ μεγάλη, με συμμετέχοντες απο όλη την Κύπρο.

28/12/2015 Aspida Team Renzo Gracie winter grading went down. We congratulate all the team members on their journey into new colors. We end this year on a high note with many successes and step into 2016 stronger than ever. May the new year bring health, happiness and even more colored belts!

The highlight of the event the promotions of our 2 new black belts Nikolas Kaglanzis & Markos Pefkaros!Tonight after 15 years of sacrifices and loyalty finally paid off with the best way possible.

Bjj and beach camp 2015 review

It is with great pleasure that I get to announce the "official" closing of our training camp, BJJ & Beach Camp! Our full week-long training camp came to an end this past Sunday, full of interesting new techniques, revisited classics and thoughtful insights on the fighting psych and competition approach.

None of these would have been possible without the presence of my good friend and "Mestre" Andrea Baggio, who once again visited us out of sheer respect and friendship. He has, once again, selflessly, shared his personal and instructional knowledge and experience to enrich us all!

I would also like to extend my gratitude to my dear friend Panikos Melodias for his help and support in organizing the event.

Crystal Springs Hotel for the outstanding hospitality and facilitation of the camp.

A great big thank you should also go to Veronique Rugirello letsbeyoga for helping us stretch out and relax with her yoga after the training sessions.

Last but not least I would like to thank Alexis Kallis for holding the "lines" back in Nicosia and running the classes in the scorching heat!

Bjj and Beach Camp 24 -30 Aug 2015

Το πρώτο Bjj Camp στην Κύπρο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στον Πρωταρά στο Ξενοδοχείο του Crystal Springs από τις 24 μέχρι τις 30 του Αυγούστου.

Κάθε μέρα θα έχει προπονήσεις νωρίς το πρωί και αργά το απόγευμα με head coach τον Andrea Baggio second degree black belt, ιδρυτή της Milanimal στο Μιλάνο

με βοηθούς τον Αντρέα Αχνιώτη Perales και Παναγιώτη Μελωδία first degree black belts της Aspida Team Renzo Grasie Cyprus.

Οι προπονήσεις θα είναι ανοιχτές για όσους ενδιαφερόμενους από όλα τα επίπεδα.

Belt Promotion 15 Jun 2015

Ολοκληρώθηκε στο Aspida Team Renzo Gracie Cyprus το τριήμερο σεμινάριο από το Παντελή Παναγίδη.

Με το τέλος του σεμιναρίου έγιναν απονομές ζωνών ,τέσσερις  Μπλε, πέντε Λιλά, δυο Καφέ, σε τρία άτομα αύξηση βαθμού Καφέ ζώνης και δυο Μαύρες.

Είναι σημαντικό να αναφερθεί ότι είναι η πρώτες μαύρες ζώνες που δοθήκαν πότε από Κύπριο προπονητή .
